“Faint Traces”
There are moments when music does not seem to begin, but to reappear. A line returns without announcing itself, a gesture feels familiar before it is recognized, and what we hear carries the quiet impression of something already lived. Not fully remembered, and not entirely new, these sounds move in the space between presence and recollection — where meaning is not fixed, but slowly reshaped.
In this program, each work approaches what came before from a distance. A chant softened through time, a melody resurfacing in another voice, a theme passed from one composer to another and altered in the process. Nothing is preserved exactly as it was; instead, it is held, reconsidered, and allowed to shift. What remains are not originals, but traces — faint, persistent, and quietly transformative — suggesting that music does not simply move forward, but continues to listen to itself.
